Historically, DMVR Actuaries & Consultants was the first Actuarial Consultancy based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, serving the Middle East. DMVR was a company found by Mousa Al-Rubaian and Ruan van Rensburg in 2005.
Ruan subsequently purchased Mousa's share in DMVR, moved the company to Bahrain and changed the name to Lux Actuaries & Consultants. Lux, or lx is the standard international measure of the intensity of light. It is also a standard actuarial measure or symbol used in Life and Pensions probability calculations.
Lux is the premier actuarial consultancy in the Gulf region in terms of accessibility, service, in adding value to our clients, and in the quality of our clients themselves.
We also intend establishing the actuarial profession in the region and to promote the skills and standards and qualifications that makes the profession as respected and well-remunerated as it is, in much of the rest of the world.
